2009 Charity Golf Tournament Dollars at Work

Price Kong's premier annual charity event has recently produced real world results with the help of the sponsors and players of the 2009 Charity Golf Tournament and the wonderful kids of the Osborn Middle School Football team. The Osborn Middle School Football team is one of the designated beneficiaries of our charity golf tournament funds.

Letter from Osborn Middle School football coach, Mariano Guerra :

Thanks to everyone that has supported Osborn Middle School Football this year! A special thanks goes out to Ms. Makar and Mrs. Brand for giving the students at our school many opportunities for success on and off the playing field. Coach Valenzuela and I would like to inform you about all of the wonderful things students are doing at our school because we think the kids are simply amazing and this is what our district is all about.

The champion Osborn Middle School Football team, currently 3-0, took their skills on the football field and proudly applied them out in the community on Tuesday December 8, 2009. The football team 35 strong, assisted a neighbor near the school, after a pretty tough storm, to clean up and clear yard trimmings and debris. In an effort to teach the students about teamwork and giving, coach Valenzuela and I decided that this would be an excellent opportunity to give back to the community.

With rakes, brooms, shovels, and trash bags, the team helped our a neighbor in need by helping maintain his property and the neighborhood. Everyone knew they were doing a good thing for the community and they quickly stepped up to demonstrate teamwork and giving. All of the student-athletes also wanted to clearly demonstrate the importance of academics and sports at the middle school level. This build character, determinations, and leadership in young people.

As we say on the Football Team: "We are, ... Osborn!"

Thank You,
Mariano Guerra, M.Ed

he needs to be lenient with some cash-strapped clients. “We’re hoping it will work out and they
will stay with us for a long time,” Tony says.
As for his personal success, Tony acknowledges his support team, including his assistant of 13
